  1. Hi everyone: Patty and I are working on plans to travel to Siem Reap upon our return to Phnom Penh on 16 January. We plan to stay in SR for 3 nights in order to visit the temples for 2 days and then have a day for birding at a nearby bird sanctuary. I found good info at this site: http://www.canbypublications.com/siemreap/srtransp.htm It seems that transport from PNH to Siem Reap can be by air, bus, minibus or car/taxi. We're currently thinking of the latter...airfare is $79o/w or $158r/t on the Bangkok Air website; flight leaves at 3:15pm. I've read that the overland travel is on good roads w/great scenery, takes 5-6hrs. The best bus co.(Mekong Express) has one that leaves at 2pm. Several hotels were recommended in Siem Reap...we're looking at the Kool Hotel (seriously...highly recommended on Trip Advisor)or one of the ones recommended by the Habitat people (previous email from Leslie). Please share what you've discovered!
